Community has not matched up Armwood’s football success (St. Petersburg Occasions)

SEFFNER — Hidden away inside a nondescript plaza off Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.
Boulevard in Seffner sits a quasi shrine to great Armwood High football teams
past and offer.
Decorating the walls at B & D Barber Shop, a Seffner staple for pretty much three
decades, are faded newspaper cuttings, championship memorabilia and signed
photographs.
“We opened up up this place and grew to become boosters exactly the same year Armwood (opened up in
1984),” stated Al Hancock, whose father, Bruce, is the owner of the store. “We like sports,
and that we love Armwood football.”
About 20 gamers and coaches regularly sit in Hancock’s barber chair, but
putting on nowhere and whitened is not essential for speaking Armwood football.
Hancock, a guy by having an easy smile and quick tongue, will typically provide
anybody in earshot the skinny on everybody for free safety Trevor Days (1987)
to fullback Kalvin Bailey (2004) to current star Alvin Bailey.
“What they’ve happening there at Armwood is special,” stated Hancock, a
school booster for those 27 years.
He just wishes more and more people around here recognized it. Because the Hawks get ready for
