Make sure that you allow the filter on the tank to run through on complete cycle before you put the betta fish in, otherwise there is a good chance the betta fish will get ammonium poisoning. 80 degrees Fahrenheit is the optimum temperature for your betta tank.

Co-habitation is not a good idea for betta fish. Siamese Fighting Fish is a less common name for betta fish, but if you put two betta fish together, you will find out exactly where the name comes from! If you put two betta fish in the same tank, they will fight to the death. It may seem like a good idea, but if you want your betta fish to survive, then don’t do it!

The only exception to this rule is if you are breeding betta fish. Caution must be taken when breeding betta fish, because once they have finished breeding, the male will try to kill the female betta! This is the main reason why betta fish breeding is so hard.
