Veterinarians should make serious moral decisions about patient care like human doctors. There is a continuing debate inside the profession about the principles of declawing, docking, cropping, spaying, neutering, debarking dogs or cats, as well as housing of sows in gestation crates and egg-laying poultry hens in cages.
